Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to a single, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate. Smile Train’s sustainable model provides training and funding to empower local doctors in 85+ developing countries to provide 100%-free cleft repair surgery in their communities.

 

Millions of children in developing countries with unrepaired clefts live in shame, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing and speaking. Cleft repair surgery is simple, and the transformation is immediate. Unfortunately, in many cultures, children born with clefts are believed to be cursed, with often tragic results.

 

The good news is, a skilled plastic surgeon can reverse these problems in as little as 45 minutes. And the cost of this life-changing procedure?

 

 

However, while that may not seem like a lot of money for us, for those in many countries, $250 can put these procedures out of reach.

 

That’s why, here at Beverly Hills MD, we’ve decided to sponsor Smile Train, to directly impact the lives of these children.

 

Smile Train is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and the New York Times has called Smile Train, “one of the most productive charities, dollar for deed, in the world.”
